Asphyxia to perform at Awakenings 08

Asphyxia's is a world wide circus performer turned puppeteer and is performing for the first time at Awakenings. The show, 'The Grimstones' is a gothic fairy tale told with beautiful old-world marionettes and Australian sign language.

Blind Date - The Tutti Ensemble .....

Tutti Ensemble presents 'Blind Date', an eye-opening cabaret performed by five VIP’s (Vision Impaired Persons). A new cabaret show fresh from an outstanding session at the Adelaide Fringe to Awakenings. Blind Date will thrill you with its harmonies, its humour and hutzpah.


Art- About project .....

Awakenings present a mobile installation, demonstrating a vibrant sculptural head piece and artwork on large scale dimensions, an icon for Awakenings 2008 that can not be missed!


My Friend the Chocolate Cake .....

On the opening night of the Awakenings Festival, get down and boogie with the world famous, ARIA award winning band My Friend the Chocolate Cake! My Friend the Chocolate Cake is an innovative and awe inspiring band playing songs from their new album Home Improvements and many old favourites.


Drumming with Andrew Hewit .....

Andrew Hewitt is becoming one of the most talked about drummers in the international drumming community. Andrew has worked successfully as a performing artist, clinician, motivational speaker and drum educator for the past seventeen years. Andrew will be conducting workshops for school groups and the participants that attend the festival using drums and percussion.


Claymore .....

Australia’s leading Celtic rock band of folk festival fame and hero’s for Awakenings Festival participants and audiences. High energy, rock till you drop and dance the night away are the legacy of Claymore.


The Paint Factory .....

Peek through the window of the abandoned paint factory and catch a glimpse into the life and work of squatter and artist, Bronwyn a marionette. Watch and be drawn into this intriguing world in miniature which will delight and amaze as Bronwyn comes to life. And if she spots you staring, she might even come out to play .....


Trampoline .....

Hot and sexy, short and sharp, Trampoline is a hula hoop show for cabaret events, that will ensure the party is really heated as you feel the Spring in the Awakenings Ball.

Terry Cooper and Mary Arnald Ark Regional Services Wyoming USA .....

An Unconventional Art Conference: Terry will speak on creative arts programs and the impact that such a program has on the inclusion of individuals with proven positive health and well being outcomes.

A word from the Awakenings director .......

Awakenings 2008 is gathering steam getting ready to excite you, stimulate you, engage you and provide fun across Horsham, the state and Australia wide October 17-26.

The bill is quickly filling with fantastic artists, performers, puppets, painters, bands, musicians, sculptures and comedians.  Everyday is a new and inspirational adventure for all the crew working hard to make Awakenings 08.

The Funky Turtles playing up a storm.
Tutti Ensemble’s Cabaret Show Blind Date seducing you with love.
